Hand cooing is a very simple technique yet it takes a lot of practice. i have been doing it before i saw this viewdo. DO it MY WAY: do exactly what he said until you get to the "small opening". curl your lips like you are making a sound from blowing into a bottle. make sure there is a pocket of air inside, and that ALL openings are closed. Blow with your "curled" lips with no air entering your hands. slightly open the space between your thumbs until you get a sound. :)

Make sure your lips are over your thumb knuckles closest to your nails and blow gently through the small hole created between your first and second thumb knuckles. I've heard it described as if you were trying to soap bubbles through one of those bubble wands. Hope that helps.

i used to be able to do it when i was younger but...i guerss my fingurs are too big now

I use this method, as well as the fingers interlaced method. It takes a bit of practice to figure out what's happening, and how to adjust in order to get sound. Once you figure it out though, it's like riding a bike.

I never knew how to do this before, but after this veiwdo I got it so fast. Thanks. I also like opening and closing my back hand rapidly to make bird sounding noises.

I just tried it by interlacing my fingers, and the air pocket is much smaller than if I cup them. If you're into high pitch, difficult to make a seal around your thumbs two handed whistling, then whistle away...I prefer the cupped easy sealing method. I actually saw a website that said interlacing your fingers was an "advanced" technique, so maybe you way ahead of the curve.

I think it's easier if you start by interlacing your fingers to make the air pocket rather than cupping your hands. Then place your lips on the top of your knuckles and blow down across the small opening between your thumbs rather than into your hands.
